You can add Gwen Stefani to the long list of celebrities who've stepped up to help the people of Japan, as they attempt to recover from the earthquake & tsnuami that devastated their country 2 weeks ago.
Stefani donated $1 Million to earthquake/tsnuami relief...and it makes perfect sense as Gwen is absolutely in love with Japan. She cites the Harajuku district as a huge influence on her recent work (including her album "Love. Angel. Music. Baby". As Gwen explains on her website:
"I've been inspired by Japan for many years and have a true love, appreciation and respect for the Japanese people and their culture. The disaster in Japan is beyond heartbreaking and I want to do anything I can to help. I would never be able to make a gesture like this without the love and support of all the fans over all these years."
Stefani is also planning a charity auction in Los Angeles and will be releasing a limited edition Harajuku-Lovers T-shirt with 100% of the proceeds of sales of the shirt going to Japanese relief.
